Olivia Burton Watches

I love looking at Olivia Burton watches.  The photography on their website is absolutely gorgeous, and I love their beautiful, vintage inspired watches.  But, up until recently I hadn't actually taken the plunge and picked a couple up.  Yes, a couple.  I'd had the intention of deciding which one I liked better, and then sending the other back, but when they finally came, I loved them both too much to part with one.  Now, before I get too far into this post, I do want to mention that I picked both of mine up from Asos, since the exact ones I wanted weren't in stock at Olivia Burton.

I also want to take a moment and just appreciate the packaging on these little guys.  They both came in the beautiful floral boxes you can see above, with a couple little bird details.  I love their logo, too!  It's one of the cutest little birds I've ever seen!  Then, inside these boxes, there was another, simple box with their logo on the top, and once again gorgeous.  It was so much fun opening these up because of it!

Now that that's out of the way, let's talk about what I know you're all curious about: the watches, themselves!  The first one that I saw and fell in love with was the Winter Garden Floral Watch in Black and Gold.  I don't know if you agree, but I think it's much prettier than it looks on Asos's website, and I must say, I think that the photos here portray the colors a bit truer to life, as well.  Luckily, I'd seen it other places before, so I had a pretty good idea of what I was getting!

This watch has an oversize dial, and I think the flowers on it make an awesome statement!  As you guys know, I wear a lot of kind of bland clothing, and I don't often do patterns.  That makes this watch pretty much perfect for any occasion for me!  Also, even though it's from their Winter Floral collection, I can definitely see myself wearing this throughout spring and summer, and still finding it appropriate.  After all, when are flowers not a welcome sight?

The other watch I picked up was from Olivia Burton's Wonderland Collection.  Looking at these watches really does remind me of Alice in Wonderland, and falling down the rabbit hole, they're so pretty!  I will also say that these are a bit harder to find, and I know the one I got, the Wonderland Grey and Gold watch, is currently out of stock, even on Asos!  But, who knows?  They may come back, again!

This one is a bit smaller than the other watch, and has a midi face.  It also falls more into my "bland color scheme" but it's so pretty!  While the other watch is more of a statement style watch, this one is more suited to every day wear, though I wouldn't be surprised if I wore them pretty much equally!  The top photo doesn't show it quite as well, but as you can see from the photo below, this watch has a lovely light gold face that makes it feel nice and elegant, as well.  Only a couple of watches from the Wonderland collection have this feature, which I admit is something I was drawn to!

So, there you have it!  Those are my two new Olivia Burton watches, and I must say that I absolutely love them!  I don't typically wear watches, so I'm still getting used to the feel of them around my wrist, but they've already become a staple in my wardrobe!  As always, I'm curious to know what you think!  Let me know if you like the ones I picked up or not, if you've purchased an Olivia Burton watch yourself, what your favorite watch is, or if you're even a watch-wearer!  Anything you want to tell me, I'm all ears!  Love you!

March 9-15 in Erin Condren

I've been playing around with my Erin Condren Life Planner, and I think I'm starting to figure it out a little more!  Though some of you may think I'm creative, let's just get this out in the open: I'm not.  So, I actually did a lot of research on how other people decorated their planners, and took inspiration from them, then tried to make it look a little more me.  For example, I've been really into embracing the woods and the animals in them that are around me (hence my new fox hat), so I knew I wanted to have a legit woodland theme that I haven't really seen anyone else do.

So, how did I go about doing this?  First I like to put the washi tape down.  I've found that I like to separate the weekend from the rest of the week (which you'll see in a later picture), and also add a strip at the bottom, separating the days from the little note section, where I like to plan my dinners.

Then, I like to think about the big events that are happening that week, and mark them off with bigger stickers so I know I won't forget to do them/go to them.  These tend to be more events than 'to do' type items, like having coffee with a friend (for those of you wondering, Michelle is from Loving Life in the Grind), or group Bible Study.

Finally, I add stickers for decoration, like the fox above, or to signify more important 'To-Do' items, like helping with youth group on Wednesdays, go to church, etc.  I also added a couple trees sporadically around the page, just because they looked cool.

Not going to lie, I'm not actually trying to remind myself to edit a vlog or even to take time to read with the little badger sticker below.  I just really kind of like badgers.  There is a story behind it, but only the people that really know me know it.

I hope you guys have enjoyed this post, and if you guys decorate your planner, please let me know!  I'd love to see pictures of your creations, and you can send them to me through Twitter or Instagram!

Our Rearranged Living Room

If you watch my vlog channel, you'll know that Joe and I have completely rearranged our living room.  If you don't follow this channel, and haven't seen this video, or any of my other vlogs, you may not know what my living room kind of looked like.  If that is the case, then just consider this my first home decor post!  I wouldn't consider this completely finished, as we plan to add some curtains to the door and windows, but we're close, and this has already been a huge change!

Unfortunately, I don't have any good 'before' pictures, so I can't show you what this room looked like before.  But, I can tell you is that this is the first time we've had an actual kitchen table with not one but two chairs.  This space is fairly small, so we had to get kind of creative with it.  But, there are two of us (a cat, a gerbil, and a fish) living here, and the price is right, so we're not in any hurry to leave, much as I've alluded to the desire on YouTube. :)

Clearly, my "new" table and chairs is my favorite part of the living room, so I had to get a picture solely of that.  We actually inherited this from some friends of ours that weren't using it anymore, so I can't really tell you where it was from, which will be the case for just about every piece of furniture we own.  Let me tell you, I may be a beauty/fashion girl on YouTube, but I am not below accepting hand-me-downs!  Nor is Joe, so that works out well!  I can tell you that centerpiece is a candle holder from Bath & Body Works, though, and the candle inside is a Vanilla Bean candle from Target that smells amazing, though!

As a bit of decoration for the wall behind the table, I have this trio set of mirrors that I once again, can't tell you where I got them, other than that it was at a charity silent auction, and they're handmade.  I can't remember who made them, though, and therefore have no idea whether they're for sale anywhere or not.  I love them, though, and the two smaller ones have space to put a tea candle, which I'll often use when we have guests over.

On the other side of the room, we have our couch and armchair.  Joe got these when he was working with an architectural firm, and they'd finished with a house staging.  Apparently, they didn't need them anymore, so we got them.  Well, technically he got them.  We hadn't started dating at that point!  The throw pillows were given to us by the same friends that gave us the table and chairs, and I actually do know where the blankets are from!  We have two faux fur blankets both from the Target brand Threshold, and we have already used them to death!  They're so soft, cozy, and warm.  The only downside is that Cricket, our cat, apparently thinks they're his kin, and continuously tries to groom them.

Finally, we put out television in the corner, and spent a ton of time making sure that all the cords were nice and clean, so you can't really see them hanging down anywhere.  This is really Joe's area, so I can't tell you much about the actual equipment.

However, I can tell you a little about the decor!  On the left speaker, I have this Janet Craig Compacta (I would have no idea what this was if I hadn't labeled it) that I got from Walmart last summer, and am amazed that I haven't completely killed it!  The pot is also from there, and I like it because it has kind of an 'old Hollywood' vibe to me.  Right next to it is Chase the Mouse, who goes with us whenever we're on vacation.  You might recognize him from Instagram or our Cruise post!  I purchased him at a small floral shop in Bemidji, Minnesota called KD Floral.

Finally, I have a few pictures sprinkled around the entertainment center of our wedding and engagement session.  All of them are in Threshold frames, once again from Target, and I absolutely love them!  I've shown some of these before, so you may already be familiar with them.

Well, that's going to do it for now!  I hope you guys have enjoyed this post, and if you have, please let me know in the comment section.  Oh, and if you have any ideas on what else I should do with this room, please let me know that, as well.  Like I said, we are planning on putting up some curtains, but that's all we have planned for now.  If there are any other decor posts you'd like to see, certainly let me know!

MAC Cinderella Collection

I've never gotten in on a MAC collection.  Ever.  But, when I found out that they were coming out with a Cinderella collection, I knew I had to get in on it.  I'm a sucker for all things Disney, particularly Disney princesses.  This collection became available online on February 26, but it will also be in stores March 5, 2015 to April 16, 2015 if you are interested in any of these items!  Last I checked, all of these were sold out online.  Before I get into exactly what I purchased, I want to quick point out how beautifully these are packaged!  I wish I could think of a reason to keep these lovely, powdery blue boxes, but as I can't, I'm keeping their memory alive here!

First, I picked up this lipstick in Royal Ball ($17.50).  It's a lustre finish, meaning that it's slightly shimmery and pearlescent, but not frosty.  The color is a light, peachy pink that makes for a lovely, natural looking color that is nude-like, but won't wash you out.

Then, I picked up this lipglass in Glass Slipper ($16.50).  It's a very light pink with bight pink sparkles that have a slight violet tint to them, giving this gloss an overall pinky feel.  It's absolutely gorgeous, and I imagine would look lovely over all manner of nude-pink colors!

I also picked up the slightly controversial eyeshadow palette, which has six colors, almost all of which are in the permanent collection.  Now, if you are a big MAC collector, I can completely understand why this would be a turn off, but the colors included in this palette are all very popular colors, of which I perviously owned zero.

So, now I own Vapour, Phloof!, Omega, Quarry, Satin Taupe, and Stroke of Midnight (the original color), and the entire palette cost me $44.00.  Now, if you were to get these colors in their pro palette pan, which is the cheapest way to buy them from the MAC website, it would cost $10 per eyeshadow, and you couldn't even get the Stroke of Midnight shadow!  Clearly, for me, this is a good deal, and I get to have them in a beautiful Cinderella package!

I haven't gotten to really play around with these colors, much, but once I do, I'll certainly let you know what I think!  Just as a first impression, though, I love all of these colors, and can't wait to see what I can come up with!  Maybe I'll have to do a makeup tutorial?  It seems like it's been a while since I've done one of those, so I must be due for a new one!  What do you guys think of this collection?  Do any of these items catch your fancy, or are there any other items in this collection you'd like to check out?  Let me know in the comment section!
